Correct me if I’m misinformed but agism exists in the gay community as well.

I know it’s common to think men like younger women based off of biology, but what would be the explanation for older gay men only wanting to date younger gay men? I have heard and read about older men constantly trying to get with younger gay men- it was similar to how younger woman complain about older men hitting on them.

Of course younger people are more attractive (I guess) and easier to manipulate (I suppose) but men who are agist and exclusively seek and promote dating below a certain age blame it on biology. But I think they use it as an excuse to be predatory, to seem “cool” or because they have a weird complex.

I suppose it boils down to we can’t always blame our actions and ideals on biology. The same can be said for women- “wanting the best man, the richest man, blah blah” has nothing to do with biology, you just like money and status. You want to look cool.
