well there's also the "fag hag" component to keep in mind as well. a lot of good looking, outward-image-first type women will choose to hang out with gay guys who are also outward-image-first.. essentially, the guys they are hanging out with are "just another girlfriend" to them, but also a visual deterrent to many guys who will automatically NOT talk to them just because they see another male present.. its like having a decoy security guard that has zero interest in fucking them.
