Is this good or bad advice? I hear this a lot from my friends, one in particular said it’s the best advice she’s received from her mom. I will always recommend everyone, especially women, to get a career because it’s something you do for yourself and sets you up for a life of less struggles. Even if I never work a day in my life, I know that if I were to choose to work, I will never be worth $10 an hour. And there’s a lot of power in that.

However! I think this mindset of not wanting to depend on your husband and being overly independent is incredibly damaging to relationships. In marriage, I think you are a team and I still believe that the husband is the provider and you should feel a sense of protection from him. Also, I would hate it if my man were this distrustful of me.

Any thoughts or opinions? I’d like to hear them. 😊
