I feel your pain bro, I've recently gone through the same thing myself.

Almost exactly in fact.

Same deal, she turned off the sex tap immediately after my son was born.

She turned against me and my family literally the day he was born.

He is now 4 years old and we are done.

Don't make the mistake I did by drawing it out for 4 years trying to salvage something unsalvageable.

I understand you don't want to let go of the image of a family for your son, that's why I hung in there.

It's easier for kids when they are younger anyway as they don't fully understand what's going on.

Just make sure you can secure rights to see him.

Don't leave the family home until you have spoken to a lawyer and have a custody arrangement in place.

She can't force you out.

As a divorced man I think I can offer some advice. Some things you have to accept and get in your mind:

Whatever love you felt for her was real. You are a man and we love that way.
She never felt that same love for you (thus why she stopped being intimate.) She subconsciously viewed you as a means to an end. She may have THOUGHT she loved you, but this isnt an emotion that she was ever actually physically capable of. The tingles are gone, so you dont exist and nothing you ever did for her matters. (The what have you done for me lately? Syndrome.)
None of point 2 is your fault, nor is there anything you could have done in the past or could do in the future will change this.
Women detach from men emotionally LONG before any physical separation takes place. This relationship was doomed a long time ago.
What matters now is your son, not her. Fight for him and try to keep him so he can grow up to be a man that chases excellence and had a strong father figure to show him the way to self validation. THATS YOU.
She will attempt to use your son as a way to get to you and your resources and will have no qualms about lying and manipulating the system to secure her own safety. Most women have no moral compass so you cannot rely on the mentality of "nobody would do that to their own child." She can, and she will. Steel your heart and be a savage beast in defense of your sons future.
Like most modern women, your ex wife is a waste of fucking space and will never change. People do not change ever regardless of gender unless they want to. And you already said she has no desire to change. Thus she cannot be helped, nor is it your job to save her.
Love yourself and move on. Self validate and never let emotions put you on the track to going back to place where you already know only misery resides.

"Image of a family for my son"

This is why its so painful for me.

There is some pain that I'm losing what i thought would be my partner for life but that a drop. What I'm most saddened by is my son not having a proper family.

We hashed everything out decided not have a legal battle over custody. I can see him whenever i want, he can stay with me 3to4 day weekly she doesn't want me cut off from my son.

She was quite honorable about everything son related.

Its just that i hate the fact we are splitting up because of something so trivial and deprive my son of the family he deserves.

All i asked of her was to be physical with me and cut down on her outings till 5am in the morning which were weekly. I don't want a wife that is out without me till morning. She claims she's out with her friends but we all know given the time where this will lead.

I was ready to give my all for this family but it seems our age difference is at play here (9 years). Different priorities Different mentality.

Maybe its for the better but i just don't see it that way.

Women prioritise themselves over their kids that's why they don't hesitate to leave father figure out of their children's life and the child grows up being broken.

Don't fall into persistent depression, as a single father you also have to focus on your well being because noone will look out for you.

So at this point I'd say all your energy needs to be focused on taking good of yourself by having a good life/work balance, and most importantly making sure you take good care of that boy.

Unfortunately like many, you're gonna be learning the hard way, but you're not alone. Many of us do! Keep your head up, and you will be more confident and independant than you ever thought possible. That woman was literally holding you back from your true potential.

Most dads remain in painful marriages thinking that they sacrifice themselves for their kids.WRONG!!.You set up only a bad example for you kid.They absorb the bad and they repeat later in life the mistakes of their parents.Don't do that to you kid and leave , make a better life for you by giving an example of one.Don't give him a bad example seeing you being miserable growing with the thought that is normal like that. Withholding sex is abusive to men.

I can't believe no one has said this, but if you have not done so already, I would discreetly confirm the child's paternity. You can talk to your lawyer about the best way to go about it. No one has to know because it's a simple cheek swab and you send it in and the results can be via email.

I'm not trying to cause you more pain, but I've read too many stories where men find out their kid isn't theirs years later and it's doubly devastating.

Hopefully you’ve learnt your lesson. If it hasn’t happened already, you may get divorce raped in the family court with your ex taking nearly all your money and assets in alimony and child support payments.

Start recording everything, and get a lawyer to help you move your finances around to protect yourself. Assume that your ex will try to falsely accuse you. Stay strong and good luck.

I think it was mentioned but start recording everything that she says.

Also assume that everything that you say is being recorded. Anything you say, can and will be used against you. If you communicate by email or text be extremely nice and passive. If you act out it will all be used against you.

Not sure if there are any assets involved, but if so find a lawyer. In fact call all of the lawyers in your immediate area and "conflict of interest" them so your wife will not be able to have access to their services.

It sucks. A lot of us have been through it.
