Hey FDS, I’ve been thinking about a story of my now acquaintance and wanted to share it.

She was recently divorced and leveling up a LOT: working out, finishing her degree, travelling, spending more time with her child, working, discovering her hobbies. She met a man older than her and began dating him in secret. Now she gave some good advice and seemed like a HVW so I was expecting her to meet a HVM. You wouldn’t guess my surprise when I finally met him. He came to pick up my friend and I because we worked together. During the first and only time I saw him, he managed to insult my job and told me he looked down on SAHM who wanted to better themselves through various hobbies. My friend later proceeded to gush about how perfect he was and later cut everyone out of her life when she moved in with him.

Now a few years later we reconnected and to my surprise she told me she was incredibly lonely. She didn’t have any more friends, she never left her house beyond the grocery store, she didn’t travel or work or even study. She became just a SAHM.

So take what you will from the story, but I took away the fact that you should never abandon yourself if you begin a relationship. Chances are, your extra attention on your man won’t be appreciated and worst case scenario, he will secretly look down on you.
