...she’s right, though. This is one FDS thing I can’t get behind. Should a man ask your father’s permission before asking you, too? My BIL did, and frankly I found it so outdated and gross. A lot of customs were started for purely patriarchal, misogynistic reasons and it’s ok to question them and do things a little differently.
