I’ve never had this happen and this is one of my nightmares. I’m in my 20s so if guys are using photos from years ago it’s pretty obvious. I usually follow their Instagram before meeting them so I can see what they looked like in their most recent pictures. If they don’t have any photos, I don’t meet them.
I’ve had the opposite situation - a guy with only like 3 Instagram photos turned out to be more attractive than the photos.
Not sure what to do at the scene. Some people say to leave right away, yet I might stay for a quick drink and then say that I have an early morning the next day.

I’ve had this happen. Guy told me he was a former Marine and all of his photos showed a good looking, fit guy. Well, it turns out he must have gained 75 pounds since he left the service. He said something that implied he got kicked out too. Also I asked him a question, don’t remember what it was about and he ended up telling an extremely long sob story about his ex. It was obvious he was obsessed with her. I ghosted him.
I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to be rude, but that was when I was a pickme. If this ever happens again, I’m going to say something along the lines of “wow, I don’t even recognize you, how old were those pictures?” and cut the date short.
Edited to add: Last guy I met on OLD, right before I made it official with my current boyfriend, mentioned multiple times that he’s 6 feet tall. Girl, this dude might have been three inches taller than me and I’m 5’6”. Once he even joked about how he’s the shortest in the family because he’s only 6’ 🤣 He ghosted me after our second date which is fine because I was going to call it off, I was not feeling any attraction whatsoever. Mostly because he was blah in looks and personality but also because I had started dating my current boyfriend, who gives me butterflies because I’m so attracted to him...plus he’s 6’1” for real 😆
