You can see the farmer is a hard-working man. They're a dying breed.
[β]fat_lesbians_lul32 points33 points34 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

just give it time

Can't see how is Government going to give employment to all those replaced workers. Also, the Left would do something about it.
If the Left is out of Power, it will call for a revolution, protest, arson kind of shit against the Government and would create ruckus in the Society.
If the Left is in Power...... Higher Taxes, more welfare, economy would collapse because Welfare.
[β]fat_lesbians_lul4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
its simple, they want those people out of work and tax them just enough to force them to stay on welfare once they are out of a job because the left over money isnt enough to start your own business. youre being sucked into a black hole you cant get out of, and before you know it the government controls everything because like 25% of people are unemployed
pls daddy government give me my food money
[β]Toasty_Nuggetz2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Actually, right now 50% of the US is not working. Literally half our population does not work.
Although if you're talking about the "official" number, it's 13%...which is a joke
[β]5times20is1000 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Wait, are you sayings kids are supposed to be working?
[β]Toasty_Nuggetz0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Did i say that? I'm pretty sure i didn't say that. I was simply pointing out that unemployment is already much higher than people think. Also, kids only make up about 20%, not 50.
[β]5times20is1000 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I donβt understand where the 50% number is coming from. Itβs not like all of those 50% need a job or even want one.
[β]5times20is1000 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Actually, I should say that I donβt get why the 50% number matters.
[β]Toasty_Nuggetz0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Read the comment above mine dude.
[β][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
And then these people who are dependent on Government would vote those who keep thier Welfare checks regular. Makes sense.
Left is smarter than I thought.
[β]randomthrowaway3604 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not really. Their plan is doomed to fail. The left has no future. It WILL collapse
[β][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, these situations always result in collapse. But you can allow them to do that. They're thinking of collapsing the US. A Global Superpower.

The world has had growing automation for hundreds of years. We have had no issue so far finding new and innovative ways to keep people employed so far.
I hope it continues that way. Automation is getting cheaper and cheaper every passing day. That's what bothers me.
Many people won't learn different skills after a round of unemployment. These people become Political Fodder.
[β]Scipio_Amer1canus0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would suggest reading "Rise of the Robots" to better understand just how widespread automation will be in the coming years.
[β]MechaDuff-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Automation saves far more than pennies. It is also a really good thing - it allows us to more cheaply and effectively deliver goods and services to a wider population with lower. There is a reason we went from half of the population working fields to 1.3% of the market. This frees up labor to work on other things.
[β]fat_lesbians_lul1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
cheaper =\= better and it the longrun youre not gonne save money, yes your delivery might be cheaper but youre going to pay that back in taxes to pay for the peoples welfare whos job was lost
also its pretty fucking scummy to replace every possible person with a machine, you should value human work force a bit more than that
[β]MechaDuff0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think automation is far better in the long-run. I work as an engineer in manufacturing and handle automation all the time.
Automation is not just having robots that replicate what people do. It is adding technology that in any way reduce the need for human labor.
Did you add a conveyor belt to reduce how much somebody needs to walk? You just automated. Did you add a system that can automatically filter out bad parts so people only handle OK parts? You just automated. Did you just have a machine drive four screws into an assembly instead of having a guy do so with a drill? Again, automated.
The end result of all these changes is that it may only take 2 people to complete a task that would have otherwise taken 20, in the same amount of time. This is absolutely great. It reduces cost of these products (to everyone) and it raises quality (people make more mistakes).
So you end up losing mindless labor jobs and in favor are now creating jobs where you need people who can machine parts, machine technicians, programmers, etc.
There is no reason to be afraid now. Every step of automation has been a net gain for humanity. Was it bad hundreds of years ago to use mills to automatically grind down drain instead of having people push the millstone by hand?

Maximun respect. Is an honor to be a man!
[β]Belrick_NZ2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I disagree. The farmer has earned respect. Graduating from a state indoctrination center has little to no value to anyone.
As father i would rather my son graduates through taking over a farm of his own or something else wealth creating.

That's beautiful.

I think we missed the point here.Respect ,but I don't want to be like his father. That is what gynocentrism produce.Where is his mother. There are many similar dudes that are living in their cars to pay child support.
[β]Toasty_Nuggetz2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Excellent comment. I do not want to be like his father either. That man looks completely broken.
