Going into second year. During first year had an ltr which resulted in me making less female friends, however now I am single again and ready to play the social circle game. Currently only have around 3-4 really close friends on campus and the rest are friends, I read something on seduction which said

“all you have to do greet people crazy enthusiastically whenever you see them. I wouldn't say this works with strangers but as long as you have the slightest connection with the person it will create in them a near dependence on you because of how amazing you make them feel whenever they see you.”

How effective would this be in making quality friends?

My current problem is I go to parties and talk to people, but after that most of the people I’ve talked to part ways and just give a head nod in the hallways. How do I genuinely give off high value and make quality friends who stick around? I’m in software engineering and doing well in terms of academics and personal projects. I don’t flaunt my accomplishments but people are often surprised when they see, and I lift regularly on campus.
