Fetlife is like a kinky Facebook, not a dating site. I had a lot of experience with this as a Dom and it helped get my N count in the triple digits so I will tell you what I know.

Be attractive - maximize your SMV (lift, style, money, sidebar).
Know your kink well. Study it and practice like it’s a sport. This is going to separate you from 90% of the guys on there who bought some toys on amazon and think they are Christian Grey.
Your profile pic should be blurred but enough to show an idea of what you look like (hairline, full body, etc). List your face for friends only and let them know they have to add you for face pics. It engages them and gives them a compliance test, although minimal. Avoid dick pics as well, also memes or cartoons.
Avoid anyone with titles (owned by, being protected by, in a rope family with, etc. the kink community is full of 4-5s that get treated like 8-9s, and are constantly surrounded by male thirst. With that said, avoid munches and parties as well.
Find and follow that guy in your local area (offer a swinger, or kinkster) that indiscriminately adds and follows people (he will constantly show up on different people’s friend list and is very active. Unfollow everyone but him and swim in his wake. He will constantly be adding people who just signed up and aren’t fully consumed by the community and thirst.
