Same sex couples How is father’s day disrespectful to same sex male couples? It only would be to lesbians, and even then, it isn’t disrespectful. To my memory, there was a thing on mothers’ day about dads who took the role of moms, so they could simply do something like that if they want (I don’t remember what it was from, but it was nice). If they want to make a neutral parents’ day or whatever, that’s fine, but if they’re taking away fathers’ day, they have to do the same for mothers’ day (which is utterly pointless imo).
