Indeed, economies of scale indicate they should actually be getting a smaller percentage of the total revenue due to fixed costs. For example, a stadium is going to cost however many millions of dollars whether you bring in $1 of revenue or $1,000,000,000 in revenue.

Sounds like people who demand the higher income brackets are taxed more. They don’t understand how percentages work. Or maybe they do but they don’t care because “it’s not fair” that some people have more money.

This is actually objectively false regardless of your opinion on the issue.

For the last couple years the women’s team has brought in about 1-2mil more than the men’s team.

Marketing revenue transactions are a bundle for US soccer, not split into the two leagues, so cannot be attributed to either side. If you want to try that route, the women’s World Cup had about 20x the viewership that the most recent men’s World Cup had.

So if the disparity in compensation is justified, it has to be for some other reason, as these stats are not accurate.

I would bet that much fewer people watch the Men’s WC specifically for the US team than the Women’s WC. 9% is crazy high for how poorly the men’s team performs against other men, while 13% seems low for how much the women’s US team dominates. It’s not quite as cut and dry as you make it seem.
