Moviemakers should learn from Tolkien how to write great female characters.Lady Galadriel is a good example,she is beautiful,feminine,doesn't go around boasting about how powerful she is and knows her place in the world.She became a fan favorite without Tolkien having to put any "strong independent woman" bullshit in her character.

i work in entertainment. the last 15 years has seen a huge influx of hiring women. I will say women can make great managers, mostly because they are used to being the "mother" and yelling and ordering people around like a bitch. but they are NEVER creative.

....they are good at ordering creative and talented men around to do the real work. a huge influx of power to positions like creative director, producer, director, etc has led to just horrible decisions with zero aesthetic or realism. women's mind is just so different from mens and its never more clear when you analyze the art between the genders. There is a reason a woman cannot make a piece that sounds like Mozart.

Movies that fail the Bechdel Test tend to be better than the ones that pass it. The Bechdel Test for a movie is the following:

It has to have at least two [named] women in it
Who talk to each other
About something besides a man

Finshed the trilogy for the first time last night (I know I know) and I got to say, it was pretty damn good. The character development is fantastic. I didnt like any of the hobbits at first but by the end I was a litte misty eyed. Samwise went from being a fruity simp to being like the actual hero in a way. Total 360.

That being said, Eowyn makes the movie very hard to watch at parts. I really thought she was somehow gonna snatch Aragorn from that hot as fuck elf bitch Arwen and it be some shoehorned love triangle. Her screen-time was just a complete burden.

The elf goddess chick is good cause she fucks off for the movie. Shes like nah Frodo this is your journey im not doin shit. Arwen was a good character too, she would be a unicorn in real life. Loyal, fine as hell, understanding, and good relationship with her father lmao.

I guess the spider was also female and that was pretty accurate. She sucks the life out of men and is just no fun.

Agree with the caption at the bottom of the picture. Otherwise it would have been a train wreck. Peter did manage to put Fran Walsh and Phillipa Boyens into the movie as the two Easterlings who come over to where Sam has his cloak covering him and Frodo (one of whom is his wife). Thank heaven they didn't have speaking lines.

I distinctly remember women screaming together in the corners of buildings while their men were getting slaughtered.

And then there were those other women discussing their escape while loading on to the boats while their men were getting slaughtered.

And of course, there's multiple times when the women were screaming and chatting while going back to hide into the mountain while their men were getting slaughtered.
