I use to struggle with how to approach. Whether I should use openers, one liners, or just be myself. I realized when I started approaching regularly that I prefer to just be myself.

My most effective approach is to make eye contact, smile/smirk a little bit and say “Hi, what’s your name?” Continue conversation in whatever way I see fit afterwards. Usually something related to where we are, what we are doing or just a random observation about the girl or the environment we are in.

They may be cold initially. But don’t be a weirdo, be genuine and act like you are purely just interested in meeting them and they will open up quickly and be friendly. On average this takes about 10-20 seconds until they open up and start to invest into the conversation. Most times they just don’t know what to say back when you open them (they may be nervous). Lead them in conversation and they will be receptive.
