I (23F) am in my last year of medical school and once I graduate I hope to specialise to become a surgeon. My problem is many of other guys at medical school and doctors in general don’t seem to want to have medic wives as they want someone who can be at home more often to look after their children and have more time available for them.
The other issue is, I don’t want to date a guy who is not ambitious/in an equally paying/educational level career as me. Ideally I would want to date a guy who earns just as much as me or more. This is because for me this will ensure that despite my competitive career, I will still feel feminine and looked after.
But I am also passionate about my career and about surgery. So I don’t know what to do, it seems my ambition is repelling most other medics but I also don’t want to give up my career. Is there a way I can have both?
