My best friend and I are both former infantry marines, both tall in good shape, both of us love to go out and game at the bars. He has stolen women out from under me, and I've stolen them from him. We talk shit on each other all the time and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's good competition, and it makes us better as individuals. He's still the guy I can turn to for anything, and I don't begrudge him for who he is. In the end, it's just a woman, who cares if he takes one from you here or there or throws you under the bus occasionally. Do it straight back next time you go out with a grin and wink

Two sports players can't be best friends. I'm convinced that when two sports players cannot be friends without one backing down and accepting that the other is of higher "athletic status." There is always likely to be some power struggle if one person is more insecure with his position...

If neither of you can handle competition, then yeh, you aren't alpha.

But his dirty underhanded tactics and lying to you seems more like a justifiable reason to be upset at a friend. If my sports pal spiked my gatorade with sleeping pills before a match I sure as hell wouldn't call him my friend.

Me and my best friend are alpha as fuck. We are allies and wingmen to each other in the pussy slaying business. We defuse cockblocks for each other, and we do not cramp each other's style. We DHV each other, and we give each other constructive criticism on pretty much everything. Just two weeks ago or so, I wasn't on top of my game, and he assisted me with a figurative "push" in the right direction, and that turned out very nicely. I've done the same for him.
