TRP isn't going anywhere. This subreddit has about tripled in size over the last 8 months or so. A newspaper article that was basically about "Some mean guys on the Internet are writing things!" made it to the top of Hacker News the other day. And most importantly, the stuff we talk about is real---it affects guys every day, and when they get frustrated/confused, they get on the internet, and find an entry point to the Sphere.

So don't worry too much about the sub disappearing into obscurity. First, because you can't eat fame: This could be the most popular subreddit, but if you're still a beta loser, you're gonna have a hard time. Second, because it's not going anywhere, and if it does, something else will spring up.

Finally, taking the pill sucks. It is a major mindscrew. You walk around seeing a lot of things completely differently, while simultaneously questioning yourself and if you're becoming a bitter angry misogynist. Maybe you do become a bitter angry misogynist (though hopefully only for a while). There is certainly a lot to be angry about, even if no particular person is responsible. It takes time to work/think through this anger, and guys need a place to decompress. That can look ugly, but that's just how it is.

I agree completely that the individual men would do better for themselves and TRP's image to never get angry at all, or to get over it quickly. It brings down the level of discussion, doesn't present a good image, etc.

But I think given the anonymous, decentralized nature of reddit, TRP will stay that way.

What I would suggest, if your hankering for RP-aware discussion must be satisfied (it really is somewhat addictive isn't it?), is to venture out into the blogosphere. Identities, while still anonymous, are more persistent, so people have an incentive to behave a bit better. And some people build up the street cred that they don't feel like they have to get page views/upvotes with #outrageatfeminists.

Free Northerner has written some good stuff, including an "Omega's Guide" for zero-to-hero. Rollo is perennially insightful, if verbose. I have my own blog no one reads.

The benefit is that you can do slightly longer-form writing, and get comments from people with whom you've interacted before and know to be insightful.
