What we are seeing is the world's inability to face up to hard truth. The women won't face up to it because it would mean sex with betas. (If only they knew the betas' potential!) The men won't face up to it because they're scared stiff of offending women (if only they knew what lay down that road!) The media won't face up to it because they don't want to lose ratings and advertising dollars (and yet the more they dance around the truth, the more they lose relevance. I spend way more time say, h…

It's funny; as an RP man, I generally place more blame on the dude in the situation you described on TV. This puts us in the place of two genders blaming themselves, which is certainly better than blaming each other. Much of the time, by the way, women are right about what their men should do. TRP isn't about women being stupid---it's about respecting their men and letting them lead. I think women have a hard time appreciating how good this feels for men, because it doesn't feel the same for wom…

It is hotter if it's butt-length, frankly. Long hair is just...really, really attractive. But there are a ton of caveats: can it be cared for in a reasonable time at that length? Does it interfere with, say, exercise? Or sex, for that matter? Will you get resentful about whatever extra hassle it causes? On balance, I suspect the gain in attractiveness might not be worth it past bra/blades. But there is a gain usually.

The problem with the phrase "manning up" is not manning up. Manning up is wonderful. Most of what we talk about on this board could be summarized as "man up." The problem is that it's a phrase, and phrases are spoken or written, and the chattering class that does most of the speaking and writing (women, or men who want to please women) only use the phrase "manning up" when the specific action gets approval from females. But "manning up" will not always get approval from women. In fact, in our ba…

This is a mistake men make about women often: assuming a hidden ulterior motive where there is none. It's a specific case of the general error, which is thinking that women think like men. This error leads you to conclude that they are unbelievably shitty people, or that they're angels. Both of these are wrong. Never attribute to malice what can be explained by emotionality. And be careful attributing to kindness what can be explained by reflexive empathy.

For the record, the same is true of slutitude. Every woman is a slut inside, just like every guy was born a beta. Civilization is the process of disciplining our natures.

I think there's a bit more love in the phrase "fucking retards" than you think. In their idealist heart-of-hearts, most RP men wish all guys would clue in, man up, and end this shithole situation we'very collectively landed ourselves in. Attempts to evangelize, however, have (somewhat surprisingly, depending on your level of cynicism) met with rebuff, rejection, insults, and abuse. "If only they could understand!" the RP man bewails of his fallen beta brothers. He knows the intentions of most of…

This is silly. The type of guy to join a fraternity is going to get plenty of pussy either way. It's not like I only got laid at parties. I think you're vastly underestimating the power of social proof. The term "aging fratboy" refers specifically to a guy who blossomed in a frat setting, but couldn't get the same results once out of college. I do agree, however, that guys are not just led around by their dicks all day. The way to know this is to change the question: "If majoring in CS made you …

Semi-elephant in the room: where are the black dudes? I'm just a white guy on the internet, so yeah, I don't know shit about being black. But they have been getting HAMMERED over the last fifty years by feminism and etc. I thought I had a hard time in my upper-middle class high school because I liked math, but at least no one gave me crap like "acting white." Beats me. But nothing would make me happier than finding out there's a Blackosphere on the internet along these lines.

So, this is true. The "M" in SMV stands for "Market," and that means other people. They only know what they can perceive, so yeah, perceived SMV is the only SMV. That said: you are more than your SMV. I've been in situations where I was, hands-down, the most attractive dude around, and I knew it, and I knew that women knew it---but I was empty inside. I feel bad for women. Feminism has removed "kindness" as a reason for women to value themselves. And that really is what most women have to offer: sex, and kindness. Without kindness, they're left hamstering that they're offering beauty when they're not (fat acceptance, etc.), or achievement when they're not (I have a career! I am a certfified HR professional! This is very important to understand. To be female is to be short-sighted. Surprisingly, this is one of the best things about women. People who adapt to the present environment without worrying about the future can be very pleasant. For a more PC example, look at children. They may have terrible tantrums, but who doesn't like kids? What this should mean to you is: don't automatically assume women are evil, despite what you see. Feral is a better word. They don't know any better. And yes, this me…

Corollary of "Women are attracted to jerks": You should not imitate every dude who gets laid a lot. Unless, that is, you want to. My point is: compromising your values (whatever those are) because you think it will make you more attractive is supplicating to the platonic form of Woman in your head. Glad to hear it. Just something to keep in mind: if you keep reading, going down rabbit holes, over months, etc., the conclusion you'll arrive at is: I should study hard and be awesome. It's because STEM is no fun. Women are highly adaptive to short-term stimuli. This is both their blessing and curse. Their sensations are more important to them than men. This is why there are brands of chocolate and ice cream marketed specifically to women, and none to men. STEM in general is about abstraction. Women are much more focused on the here, the now, the practical. There's an old joke: "My husband and I have got our marriage figured out," the wife said to her friend. "He makes the big…

The thing about the pill for women, interestingly, is that they suddenly realize they have something of value. I know it sounds stupid because here at TRP we talk about young women being the rockstars of the sexual market, but women generally don't want to be on the sexual market. Often they're just pursuing a retarded strategy for committment---NSA sex w/alphas. TRP raises mens' standards for women. It also raises womens' standards for men (yes, really). So they're just not going to fuck around…

I'm looking for impressions and feelings more than a straight-up "method."

First of all marriage is a transactional agreement. Always has been historically always will be. I call bullshit. Divorce was extremely hard to get approved prior to no-fault divorce. The ideal has been "'til death do you part." That's something to be strived for, not something that magically happens. In practice, of course, it's as transactional as both parties want it to be. It will be its best when both parties actively decide that it won't be transactional. Yes, yes, no unicorns, I know. But…

It's not just genes, it's also survival. Remember that women basically don't count in physical fights (slow, weak, greater sensitivity to pain, light, short reach), and you'll see why it would be advantageous to go with survival and redneck genes over probable death and a shot at engineer genes or whatever.

how will I come to terms with my inner hopeless romantic? It feels like a parasite that I cannot conquer. "Parasite" is debateable, but "conquer" is spot on. If you think of "falling in love" as chemical madness---which, frankly, it is---then you can deromanticize the feeling and think of the actions that lead to it instead. I was miserably unfulfilled... "Unfulfilled" is a good reason to leave a transactional relationship such as: a job, a school, a weekly book club, etc. "Unfulfilled" is code for "whatever, just not feeling it." I honestly do not see a problem or 'damaged goods' with a woman who consciously decides to be a whore and is completely honest with herself about it. I honestly don't think it's possible for a woman to be completely honest with herself about it. This chart shows the divorce risk for a woman relative to her # of sexual partners. She told him this while he was getting dinner with her family. After dinner, she and he get in my brother's car to drive to wherever next. She leans over the center console, wanting to make out. My brother is stunned and offended---didn't they just have a conversation that amounts to them basically breaking …

Honestly, what you should really read is the post that came before it. It's kind of long, but I really think it explains a lot. Since you're all fags (aren't we all?) and won't read it(but you really should), I'll give the executive summary: Feelings are the definitive example of short-term thinking. As we all know, women's feelings can get in the way of their rational thinking. But the feelings are rational too, just short-sighted. Feelings are fun, but not particularly effective. As such, wome…

People need to stop treating LTR's like they mean anything. An LTR lasts until either party decides it doesn't last. There is no moral force holding people to promises they never made! And yet guys will think, "Well, we're in a relationship, and I did Y for her, so she owes me X..." Did she ever promise X? Probably not, you just want to hold her to you by whining. "Therefore when thou [do nice things for chicks], do not [recount them while whining], as the [betas] do [on their forums], that they…

Also I usually can't keep my frame when I'm using porn regularly, I'm a lot more anxious and my feelings affect me a lot more. This is because porn is a womanly thing, and will make you more womanly. The essence of being a man is self-discipline, and being unaffected by one's environment. The essence of being a woman is: a weak frame (which is actually a good thing, in women) and sensitivity to one's environment.

But I think that we can do that. Please understand. We likely agree much more than you think on how to run a government. Where we disagree is whether what you and I think matters in the slightest. Do you honestly think, in a world that gives Jezebel enough page views to survive, that there will be a Grand Revolt of the Populace in favor of libertarian ideals? They don't even need to revolt. All they have to do is check the right box. With a pencil. The problem with libertarians (and conservative…

Mr. Rothbard has made his decision. Now let him enforce it. I say that the rights come from God and from nature. Both God and nature favor the side with the best artillery. Perhaps the meek shall inherit the earth, but for now it belongs to the guy with the gun. It is possible to find justifications for many other arrangements---the problem is that they all get you shot. We libertarians have suggested many strategies for liberty, including education, activism, and non-compliance with government.…

(takes off "TRP ENDORSED" hat) I would say that libertarianism subscribes to the non-aggression principle, that no one has the right to commit aggression or violence against another person's rights to life, liberty and private property. That's cool. Who publishes the non-aggression principle? If rights like life and liberty can be violated, do they really exist? My advice: stop giving it up until you're married. I'm completely serious. Fairy tales are awesome. I like them myself (how do you think I ended up here?), but dreaming is not enough. You have to make them come true. And for women, this is one of the major ways to do that. There are a million objections, but if you want a fairy tale to come true, this is the way to do it. If the man doesn't like this, he shouldn't have entered the contract in the first place. Indeed. The data are so clear that scientists are no longer studying whether women file more, but why they file more. I am not pulling this out of my ass here. TRP is just one manifestation of reality reasserting itself from under the feminist paradise built on top of it. In the spirit of truth, bloviating analysis, and no sacred cows, I humbly offer what I think of as the Red Pill take on honor: First. It's important to note that people mean different things with the same word. Some people mean personal integrity, or keeping one's word and living up to one's ideals. This is the understanding a Boy Scout has. Another meaning is adulation, or awards. "I'm honored to be invited to speak tonight on..." One benefit of college that isn't talked about as much is that it gives a pseudo-professional network. If you skip on college, make sure you find another entry point into your industry's community---subscribe to mailing lists, go to meetups, the works. This is good advice for those in college too, of course.

It's not "fake data," it's a better way to communicate the non-data of "women are most sexually desirable from their late teens to their late 20's." The sentence is no more or less based on data than the graph. You could make the case that Rollo created the graph to hoodwink through its visual similarity to how real data is often presented, or that others have appropriated it and done so, but Rollo goes out of his way to say it's his approximate impression, not "One weird trick to tell how desir…

Yes, in the way you mean. A common objection to TRP is "They sure seem to talk a lot about getting women to act like sluts considering they say they hate sluts." The way men think of it is described in Frost's post Two Games---sluts are for short-term sluttery, non-sluts are wife material. This is why you might hear, "I hate sluts" and "I love sluts" from the same person: it depends on context. "Aren't we just brothers and sisters in self-delusion then?" Well, sort of. But life will almost certa…

You have to remember that "safety from crime" is a resource, and an artificially produced one at that. We pay real money in the form of police and military salaries, and they produce a constant stream of this resource. (The analogy isn't perfect, but good enough for this). Now, police and the military are public forms of security, in that they are paid for and implemented by the public. Unfortunately, like all collective resources, this public utility is subject to the tragedy of the commons , i…

A question worth asking. Marriage 2.0 really can't be defended so I won't even try. But marriage 1.0, I'd contend, was the bedrock of society. And I'm not just saying that rhetorically. Take it away, and you get: poverty, crime, depression, social isolation, demographic decline, and even war. Detroit is a picture of what you get when the government alpha "obsoletes" men by replacing them as providers. So I'm biased. I'm in favor of marriage. Not as it is, but as it was. I may have exaggerated a bit with "gonna have a bad time." What I really mean is "a harder time than if they'd married in their early 20's." "Harder," for the exceptionally beautiful, may very well mean "not that hard." The point that Frost makes that impressed me was the idea that current beauty is not all there is to the story. Pretend he's a horrible asshole neckbeard basement brony, all as a result of his own actions. But whatever the cause, that's how he is right now. On the one hand, we have: "1. Too bad. 2. Nothing at all, but /r/TRP would contend that in a contest of "hyperbolic falsehood," society wins it by a mile by whitewashing female sexuality and character. There's a gaslighting effect that needs to be broken, and if that's achieved by letting a guy spout hyperbole on the internet, well, I'm entirely comfortable with that.

Maybe so, but having been a dude of many ages with many 14-yr-old girl friends, sisters, and cousins, I think I have a fairly complete picture. Can we stop the off-hand condescension now?

I can't speak to the feeling around it, but the word itself isn't that derogatory. I seem to remember calling a girl "foul-mouthed and loud" or similar at some point. I didn't mean it as an insult, and she didn't take it as one. But I can't speak to your situation.

For the same reason that measurement is better than survey. Which do you trust more, the scale, or how much someone tells you they weigh? They don't even need to be dishonest or stupid for you to prefer the scale, just human.

If we're talking about games, both men and women have incentives to defect and make it an oppositional game. It is possible to build a loving, mutually beneficial relationship on top of this; see Tit for Tat. But you have to build on realistic foundations, and accept that a relationship is about exposing vulnerability and is therefore dangerous. Just because you approach relationships hoping to benefit all parties does not guarantee that your partner is.

As a TRP dude, I'd contend that the standard definition doesn't quite cover it, whether through malice or (more likely) myopia. It needs to be judged for its effects as well as its ideals. ED: which is easy to say, but it's not like I've offered an alternative definition.

There's a lot of RP stuff that is generalized, over-the-top, and motivated by emotion. "All women are conniving bitches," etc. This is obviously ridiculous. That said, statements like this may be useful, equivalent to a mother advising her daughter that "All men are dogs." Men are not sex-crazed maniacs, but they are way more into sex than your average wilting-violet fourteen-year-old girl can really understand. Just as the 14-yr-old won't really get it for years, a lot of what you see on /r/TRP…

Christianity's, not Christians'. A widespread phrase in the Christosphere/orthosphere (whatever you want to call it) is "Churchianity," alluding to the idea that many modern churches are just feel-good community centers that change their doctrine to appease the most shriekingest of their congregants (no prizes for guessing who that is).

All societies are always in time of scarcity: if they stop running, another society will outbreed them and take their land/customers/resources. This is the fate Rome suffered, and modern first-world societies will too if current trends continue.* *This is admittedly quite a caveat, but current trends probably will continue. This is true, but it is not enough. Look, Nietzsche and the death of God is cool and all, but after the Sacred No (morality is merely a construct) comes the Sacred Yes (I'll make my own construct). Just because something's artificial doesn't mean it's bad. Civilization is literally built on marriage: it's the only thing keeping single young men from rioting (until, that is, WoW. This is mildly interesting but ultimately trivial by itself, but combined with the research on sexual preferences at different stages of the cycle, it becomes practical: if you're looking for a one-night stand, go for the girl in pink or red first.

This really is the key point. A great deal of misery for both genders has come about because of the conflation of falling in love---a biochemical phenomenon---with love the virtue, as described in 1 Corinthians 13. Examples of this deep linguistic confusion: "I love you, but I'm not in love with you." "I love beer!" "I love my children." "I love my parents." "I love my country." "I love my dog." I believe in all these loves. I do not, however, believe that they are the same as each other.

A period of withdrawal can be healthy and constructive. Your anger is caused by a mismatch of expectations and reality. This is actually a very good point. Women are attracted (even if not romantically) to success, so she gets a lot of upvotes from other women, confirming her Awesomeness®. She might be getting a lot of upvotes from men, too, because accomplishing all that is indeed admirable. However, the key RP insight is: it does not make her more attractive. With religion in its death throes, we've ceded the role of moral arbiter to those who screech tthe loudest. No surprise who that is. Order is important here: you want to be the kind of person that enters most relationships as a leader, but you should rarely strive to be the leader in any particular relationship. I just say stuff, btw; none of this is a comment on you. And since I can't read your mind, if I seem to be disagreeing while actually agreeing, well, there we are then!

Don't assign hyperagency to women. Just because a lion would eat you on the savannah doesn't mean lions are evil---it means you should be careful out there. Lions are great---in zoos or or from the safety of a truck. Women actually mean it when they seemingly ignore a man's point of view. They're not ignoring it, it literally doesn't cross their minds. This is something to be aware of and take into account, not judge them as horrible people because of. Women are generally quite nice, like most p…

You misunderstand leadership if you think it's the strong taking from the weak. That's predation, not leadership. If your understanding is "I should try to be the leader because that's what gets the bitchez," then no one will want to follow you (using the hypothetical "you" as I don't know you from Adam). Enter friendships as friends. Hierarchical relationships reflect natural hierarchy, they don't impose it. Let things develop. The last thing you want is to be acting "alpha" around your betters…

Geek culture and its relationship with women is a giant clusterfuck. On the one hand, you have what you could call "legitimate" geek culture: people who like non-mainstream (esp. non-physical) activities or whatever. Gravy. Sometimes, though, you get a subculture that at least unconsciously defines itself as outcasts. Girls are caught in a double bind when wanting to be a member of this culture: if attractive, they can never truly be a member of a culture that defines itself as unattractive; if …

Cdm is right, but also: don't flatter yourself. Male attraction tends to be be less fickle, and we tend to project that onto women. The other thing that strikes me lately w/reference to "it's old-fashioned"---it's just an appeal to force. "Fashion" means "things the cool kids like," so calling something old-fashioned carries a subtle threat: "Abandon coolness all ye who enter here." While "old-fashioned" warns of the wrath of the Fashionable, there's another version: "It's 2013!" I expect it's similar to TRP's love/hate relationship with women 18-25: it's generally the most attractive age for the gender. A 30-yr-old guy may be going after 22-yr-olds because he's "creepy" and can't get anyone his age, and a 22-yr-old girl may be a golddigger just looking for deep pockets if she likes older guys who have their lives together---but in most cases, it's because 30-yr-old men are generally more attractive than 22-yr-old dudes, and 22-yr-old women are generally more attractive …

Your knowledge of finance is admirable, but you're so eager to show it off that you're missing the point, which has nothing to do with finance. The company analogy is just that: an analogy. Having sex with a bunch of sexually-valuable men with no promise of investment on their part is a bad sexual strategy for women: if an analogy points to it being a good strategy, then the analogy is no longer useful.
/r/RedPillWomen18/06/13 04:39 AM
2

The problem with this strategy is that it breaks the analogy: in financial investment, investment and return are tightly coupled: investing in GE won't help you if McDonald's does great, but it will help you if McDonald's does well. This is not true for random hookups. If you have sex with a dude and he wins the lottery tomorrow, congratulations, you are entitled to...nothing. If you're going to invest in a dude, you should be sure you're protected: marriage is the way to do that.
/r/RedPillWomen18/06/13 04:05 AM

Ask yourself this, then, because it could very well happen: post-BJ, one of her friends says, "My turn!" and starts walking over. Your wife doesn't react one way or another. What do you do? It's a very real possibility, and if you proceed, make sure you have a plan for that, one way or another.

This sounds like a bad idea. Here's what's running through my head: "Status/success object," in the Warren Farrell sense disrespectful to the other men. That may not bother you, but it should---you don't want your wife hanging around women who hold their husbands in contempt. you're not there to put on a show. It's not so much a shit test (though it is) as a basic lack of respect. The specific response will vary depending on the situation (for instance, your wife's parents are not responsible for what your wife did, so kicking them out wasn't an option), but what should be constant is the clarity that that doesn't fly. An intense conversation after her parents left, perhaps, and (most importantly) a reduced amount of trust on your end.

This is on the fringe of TRP, but it seems consistent to me. TRP is basically the realization that women can't be completely trusted not to defect. As such, rather than hoping to win approval through supplication, a TRP guy will constrain the choices of women around him to be more favorable to him. "Leave" and "do what I want" were already choices, but "keep me around and treat me like shit" is now off the menu. It's important to note that this is enforced by, well, force---you don't ask a girl …

A society that has collectively taken the pill, and responded appropriately, will annihilate a society that has not, even if only by outbreeding them. I mean, sure, I do basically zero work on behalf of "society,"---I'm not trying to ascribe noble motives to myself here---but it's kind of sad to contemplate the oncoming demographic collapse. Also it's worth pointing out that the iterated prisoner's dilemma is iterated, that is, there are second chances. This has not always been the case; for a l…

For me, it's drastically reduced the amount of time I care to spend with women, as well as how much I listen to what they say. Fun to be around, but if you want to get something done, well... They'll be around when I want. Maybe not any particular one, but we're fooling ourselves if we believe one person has something irreplaceable. Have friends (but real friends). Life is still good. It's just different than you thought.

Women have much more autonomy and choice than they did, and their happiness has been declining for decades. I'd make the case that autonomy and freedom are not magic happiness potions. Were no-fault divorce abolished, the husband might have less freedom in that he was stuck with the lady, but he'd be freed from the sword of Damocles over his head.

I have to disagree strongly here. While I think marriage 2.0 is a joke, unrestrained pursuit of sexual pleasure will doom us all. If a society can harness the energy of young men it will go far; marriage 1.0 was a very good way to do that. Society as a whole (not just women) benefit from beta bucks, and we should all be interested in keeping the bargain worth it for betas, however well we may be doing individually.

It's not the what, it's the why. Are you doing it to impress? To gain validation? Perhaps hoping she'll do some of the work herself, so you don't have to? Then you'll fail. Are you doing it to let her know that it's totally normal that she's not viscerally attracted to nice guys, and she is in fact, not crazy (well, she is, but no more than her peers)? Then go for it.

Gosh, I wonder how marriage can exist in cultures without contract law, as an aside. It is a mystery! Actually, this is a question worth asking. How does marriage exist in cultures without a well-developed system of contract law? What prevents, say, one man from raping all the women? What stops a man from getting a woman pregnant and abandoning her? What stops a woman from walking out?

It's the state. Go to the foundations, and what men are scared of is the state. Alimony, rape accusations, welfare undercutting men's value as providers, pro-female affirmative action undercutting men's value as providers, and the triple threat of child support, no-fault divorce, and female-biased abuse laws. Men's responses to this will vary, but make no mistake: the state is at the root.

TRP can create a sort of existential crisis. When you realize most of the advice you've received has been lies (rare) or ignorance (much more common), you look around with the scales fallen from your eyes, and think, "Well, shit...what do I do now?" In your case, I think working for the well-being of your own might be a good goal around which to orient yourself. Friends are good. Male friends are generally (though not always) better. Add "gentleman" to the long train of words ruined in modernity. Similar to "creep," it is now relegated as an indicator of female sentiment, devoid of objective meaning. The word gentleman originally meant something recognisable; one who had a coat of arms and some landed property. Dating really has no purpose without marriage as the end goal. Alpha men don't need to take a woman out to dinner to get sex, and beta men won't manage it whatever they do. It's alright for women, of course: free food and entertainment, while still having access to alpha dick. But even betas are dropping out if not wising up, and the gravy train is coming to an end---only now, marriage (which women need more than men) isn't even remotely on the table anymore, except for hail-mary ultimatums when…

What's amazing is how no one tries to actually disagree with him. The woman in the video immediately jumps to shaming. He's shouted down until he just shames back. First: Regarding marriage, you should be insecure. In most Western societies, your life can go from hero to zero very quickly if your wife blows the detonator. This gives you plausible deniability, while still getting 90% of the way there. I had a BPD oneitis who would call me every time she was in the dumps, and I finally got sick of it. This is how I handled it. Still facebook friends, and haven't heard from her in two years.

Get out of the "proof" frame. People don't shy away from rp ideas for a lack of evidence, but because of shaming and internalized beliefs. This is not a debate you can win, because your opponent is allowed to metaphorically flash her tits, and the judges are (as bluepill as) 14-yr-old boys.

Actually, along these lines: do you have close male friends? One of the diseases of modernity is searching for a partner who fulfils all your needs. "Alpha" and "Beta" aren't necessarily hard classifiers. If a man is alone in a forest, is he alpha or beta? Neither. They only gain meaning in groups. Usually the group of your competition is the Dunbar's Number(150-ish) of people that the girl in question knows. But as an illustration, put yourself in a room w/Kobe Bryant, and you'd be beta. Random high school kid, and you'd be alpha. It's relative. It sounds like you're a pretty attractive dude, though, so good on you. It's also good that you …

I recall seeing a thread on "How to Get Her Back" on some pickup forum a few years ago. One of the options (not advised for...obvious reasons) was to disappear for a while, become amazing, and then reappear. This was referred to as "pulling a Gatsby." So, advice to all: Go see the movie. It was a great book, it'll probably be a good movie. And then never do what he does. EDIT: Noticed on fb that a oneitis of ages past is extremely excited to see it. That should tell you all you need to know.

Haha, true, but as dalrock has noted, they do so only because they assume that marriage will be there for the taking at the end. Women very much still want to get married; however, they've been misled to think that their peak SMV from 18-23 lasts forever.
/r/TheRedPill08/05/13 01:46 AM

It doesn't necessarily increase SMV, but it does increase MMV, which they care about. While the times they are a-changin' against marriage for men these days, that is not nearly true for women. There is no WGTOW phenomenon. Strength of commitment will vary, as socal83 says.

Do you think she'd be committed if the roles were reversed? No. Some women really would be, despite their natural hypergamic urges. We're animals, but we're not just animals. The problem is that society paints a picture that pretends women are incapable of cheating. "Don't worry about staying faithful," is the message. "You're a woman, you're naturally monogamous." And so they are---serially monogamous. This is coupled with a morality play in which divorce based on women's arousal or lack thereo…

If looking western was attractive to women in Asia then I'll assume it's attractive to men in Asia. Unfortunately, I highly doubt it is. Not necessarily for looks, but for status. Mono-race cultures tend to be pretty darn racist---I was asked a few times if I was scared living in the U.S. b/c of all the black people, and the two black guys I knew there weren't treated very well. In Asia, for some reason, being white gives you a lot of status. In China you can literally be a "professional white m…

We obv. can't give a definitive answer on what she should do, but we can provide a good lens through which to see her situation. Relating to hypergamy, two points: ---The reason it's a big deal is because (you're right, it seems obvious, women are looking for the best man) men are NOT necessarily looking for the best woman. Of course, if they had the choice they'd take her, but if not, they'll take what's left. To use the crude parlance, a 7(dude) will have sex with a 4(girl), but a 7(girl) will not have sex with a 4(dude). Even more extreme, a 7(woman) might prefer a covert (and thus weakly invested) relationship with a …

First, thank you for coming in like a baller with numbers and questions rather than accusations. Re: cheating, others here are correct to point to divorce rather than cheating during the marriage interval. I would disagree that women being more tilted toward emotional OR physical infidelity has any bearing on the concept of hypergamy---the real question is, when infidelity (or heck, a legitimate relationship/marriage) happens, how does the male compare to the female? As for John Gottman, I basic…

From Rollo: If this were the only extent of Game it would understandably be very short sighted and limited in scope. In the beginning Game had a utility in that it helped a majority of men lacking the social intelligence to approach and develop a real, intimate rapport with women they fundamentally lacked. The problem was that beyond Game’s “in-field” uses it wasn’t really developed past the point of ‘getting the girl’, and left even the most socially adept PUAs unprepared to deal with the real …

It's sad. There is such a thing as "girl game," and it's beautiful (in the classic sense) to behold when you see it. It's not as much of a "thing" though.

Finally, I will anticipate the meat-headed bluster that is imminent: I don't give a dead rat's dying shit about any business about getting "laid". In passing, people who use the word "bro" are about as dim-witted as they come, and one would do well to first consider the opposite of what they advise. Here at /r/theredpill, we're all about stereotypes, but you have to allow for some irony, bro. But seriously, MGTOW is completely respectable. It neatly avoids many of the problems we discuss here. As I look back on it, that was too simplistic. What I should have said is that your "feel" for what men will appreciate is better calibrated than your feel for what women are attracted to. Put another way, the reason TRP exists is because guys have a hard time putting themselves in the shoes of a woman. But you shouldn't really have a problem putting yourself in the shoes of a dude. So it actually is as simple as "be a friend to have a friend," because you have a really easy time knowing what ki…

A couple things: First, just as a general rule, you do want to be with a girl with less than your income: http://www.denverfamilylawyerblog.com/2010/09/study-women-who-are-primary-wage-earners-more-likely-to-divorce.shtml Yes, it's sexist, but as SRS never fails to remind us, that's what we're all about! Well, that and statistics. Second, even speaking as a guy who also likes smart girls, do not overvalue intelligence. Women almost universally find greater intelligence attractive in men, so smar…

Understand that your sentimental feelings are just that---sentimental feelings. Is there anything moral about them? Why should waiting around on one girl be more moral than dating another? It's not like you guys are committed or anything... Because, you must face it, you're not---or at any rate, she isn't. Real love means sacrifice, and she has not demonstrated the capacity for that. What you have is limerance, not love. Calling that love is a chick thing to do, and we should not take it serious…

||I didn't make her choose between me and medical school. Well, you should, because 4 years at distance is not going to happen. This is not a comment on the trustworthiness of either of you, because no one has made any promises. As for meeting chicks, it depends much more on who is meeting them (you) and how you are meeting them (game) than where. How did you meet this girl?

Marry her, or say goodbye. Anything else is fooling yourself. EDIT: If, given the choice between you and med school, she chooses med school, you do not want to marry her. By which I mean, do NOT marry her and follow her to WA. There SO MANY other girls out there that will not require this, every bit as awesome as this chick.

The traditional mindset absolutely exists, and comprises a noticeable section of the manosphere, viz. Dalrock,Sunshine Mary, Good Strong Men. It seriously is the weirdest alliance ever (pickup artists and conservative Christians?), but there has been some absolutely awesome stuff going on at dalrock's lately. Even if you're not Christian, I would highly recommend adding at least dalrock to your reading list.

One thing I've been wondering about--- I think it's clear that sex is generally not as big a deal for men. While there is undoubtedly some hamsterizing going on, the girl who refuses to do certain things with her boring beta husband because she was "traumatized" is not being completely dishonest, I think. That won't happen to a guy just from sex. And then we all read Heartiste's excellent piece on how five minutes of alpha ruined a woman for life and destroyed her marriage to a beta. But, back w…

Even as a huge nerd, I would not advise making it a regular "thing" to hit these locations, looking for women. They generally do nothing to improve you as a man. Your time is better spent (in terms of value to yourself, not necessarily in terms of meeting women) on activities that add value to yourself, be they exercise, education, or entrepreneurship. Sure, if you want a relaxer, keep your Tuesday night (ending before midnight) D&D group. But don't be the guy who justifies 4 hours of SC2 every …

I know what you meant, and you referred to it in a context that raised the possibility that what we call evidence is "just pseudoscience bunk and poorly written philosophy." Don't get me wrong, this is the internet:we certainly have our share of pseudoscience bunk and poorly written philosophy. But why did we seek it out? How did we get from there to here? Of course it has. How could any person grow up in this society and not have, in metaphorical flaming letters emblazoned in every headline, school workshop, and afterschool special, the idea that the sexes are completely equal in every way (or, even if they weren't identical, it was socially mandated to never talk about this ever in polite company)? There's a reason the name of this subreddit refers to a 1999 movie about a false reality the characters have believed since birth. No one here wanted…

Taken in Hand is a site that draws mostly female readers, and is close to the redpill ideas. A common theme is wives or girlfriends asking how they can encourage their partners to start leading---but with the catch-22 that you can't lead someone to lead you. I hope the small female contingent of the community works on ways to attack this problem, though a man who knew the right women to talk to might be able to lead the charge and provide a central place for such theory. There is likely some of …

I'd be careful with the term "offensive." What does it mean to be offensive? That some people will be offended? By that measure, everything redpill counts. How about "unnecessarily hostile?" That's also subjective, but comes closer to the point, I think. First---anything redpill that primetime TV is willing to air is almost certainly watered down. Second---the manosphere is disparate and fragmented, with some advocating marriage strike/mgtow, others advocating marriage but with a different legal…

Ditto on forgetting women. Not necessarily in a MGTOW way, but you have to admire yourself first. "Be yourself," maligned as it is, is actually fairly redpill in its advocacy of distrusting what women like. Before I discovered pickup I wanted to be an engineer. Then I realized that wasn't "cool" and became a pickup douchebag. Then I fully choked down the red pill (beyond "get women into bed!") and want to be an engineer again. Robots are cool, fuck anyone who says otherwise.

Also, the the same weakness that prevents MRA from making much progress (I.e. there is no Team Man) lowers the bar for what needs to be achieved. You personally don't need everything misandrist repealed---you just need your local environment's culture to change. There will be no "Wave of Masculism" or "Masculist Moment" in the same way feminism saw broad, nationwide changes. What will happen is the internet manosphere will remain, grow, and develop, and isolated pockets of allied men will pop up…

I concur completely, this is absolutely the way to spin it. The distinction is that with a more "normal" story, he teller obtains some catharsis telling the story. A story of a crazy customer at a restaurant can both elicit validation ("the customer was crazy, you handled it fine!") and demonstrate value. A story like mine can either elicit validation (which requires context), or demonstrate value (which, as you said, requires "context-lite.") Is it foolish to seek validation from females? Yes, …

Also something to be said for having a Jack-Donovan-style "gang." This has several benefits: it provides an outlet for men's natural altruism, it will make most members "more alpha" than they'd be individually, and it creates a zone of trust normally destroyed (as OP commented) by individualistic striving.

I agree with you that it makes certain tasks, (even figuring out women) easier, but there are side effects that I don't think you're taking into account. Intelligence makes "cool but too hard" tasks "cool and achievable," and smart guys (like every guy) try to develop talents in something they're good (read: better than most guys) at. There are intangible ego benefits ("wow I get this, I must be smart!") that are attractive as well. The problem is (and this sounds butthurt and beta, but I think …

One thing no one has mentioned is that intelligence makes it hard for others to relate to you, because you're often doing things at the boundaries of human knowledge. I'm doing AI research. It's fucking fascinating. Neural networks---computer systems working like the human brain---are awesome. I could (and, uh, have) talk about them for hours. You can do some seriously cool stuff with programs that can emulate human-like behaviors---I've made a squirrel-targeting Super Soaker, for instance, and …
