He is about to turn 31 this month, never left my parents home. He never went to college because he said he was going to pursue his dream of becoming a painter, but all he did was smoke weed and play video games. When I got into my dream college, he started complaining to my parents how they supported my education but never supported his, which is complete bullshit because he didn't even graduate high school.

When I was 19, he pushed me through a window and as a result I have a deep cut in my tricep. The doctor advised me to report it to the police, but my mom was sitting across the room and signaled me not to. Growing up, I didn't want to cause any trouble so I had a pattern of staying quiet and pushing through difficulties.

This past year, my arm began swelling up and I believe the scar tissue is causing pain where my nerves are regenerating. As a result this has cause severe back pain, physical trauma, and anxiety. I can't sit and work for 30 minutes without my arm or back bothering me. I decided to block him out of my life for the most part this year, but I just want some sort of justice. It pisses me off that I have to deal with this pain and pay for treatment, while he never dealt with any repercussions for what he did.

Do I continue taking the higher road and focus on myself despite what he has done or somehow make him pay?
