As a long-time upvoter/lurker of the topics/posts in this sub , I'm interested in RPW's thoughts regarding how a guy can come off well during the first few dates.

- To frame it more specifically, most of my non-work activities involve working with kids, tutoring, and mentoring. It's honestly one of the great passions in my life and something I've been involved in since my teenage years.

- During dates, I try hard not to mention the above volunteering as I don't want to boast or come off higher-than-thou. In the rare instance that it ever gets brought up, it seems as if girls think I'm arrogant or doing it with ulterior motives.

How would you recommend a guy approach this? What do you look for during the first few dates?

Thanks!
