Neither are anywhere close to ideal, and I think most men would pass on both.

Gun to their head and forced to choose between one of those two options, most men would probably choose the former, but there is nothing unfair about this. It's simply a case of the lesser of two evils, so to speak.

It's worth noting that a woman being a 4 but having a high RMV is virtually an oxymoron. With few exceptions, any woman who is incapable of rising above a 4 is showing a distinct lack of effort in making herself suitable for a relationship, which does not bode well for her RMV.

Depends on the person and where they are in their journey to find a proper mate.

Men willing to deal with the attitude of the post CC 8 are probably only doing it for the potential status symbol she represents for them. What they fail to realize is that she is most likely only in the relationship for the temporary purpose of having children and will probably file for divorce within 5 years (both due to her years of reinforcement showing she can easily get another, and her damaged commitment principles)

Whereas a wiser man will look at a lower SMV women (lower in relationship to himself) and realize that she is going to be investing more into the relationship simply because she knows that it is harder for her to find another and being with a higher SMV male than herself partially fulfills her 'status' need.

Be honest with yourself about who you are trying to attract and how the differential SMV between you could be a factor.

Being with an overall lower SMV male doesn't mean 'settling'. There are many factors outside of SMV that are more important (intelligence -or rather the difference in that between you, child rearing strategies, general political beliefs, religion(s), etc).
