Hey guys, I’m in college and I grew up with very controlling parents. I’ve had a guy yelling “hey!” at me on a night out. I assume it was just a male fitness test aka shit test but due to the strict upbringing, something like this causes my brain to go into a “fight or flight” mode and I back away from the girl I’m talking to. The good thing is that I recognize this and am better at holding frame. Anybody deal with this and what would cause this/and what are solutions? Maybe it stems from my dad yelling at me growing up and my brain connecting it to that.
