If men are the true romantics, can gay men find true romance?

I don't think the "men are the true romantics" statement rule out the possibility of men and women forming a very fulfilling bond. It's said all over TRP and here, the harmful issue lies in the not acknowledgment of each other's expectations and LTR mechanics.

Any gender will have some issue on an LTR. A little bit of angst because the person is forsaking his optimal sexual strategy for benefiting the other.
Women should ignore hypergamist urges, men should ignore polygamist calls. I hardly doubt it'll change with gays, but the nature of the angst they'll face will be similar.

That put I know some gay couples that have been together for over 20 years, and they have open relationships. I suppose the open relationship model might work better for them once their angst has the same source. They might empathize better. Go figure...

You can find true romance in all combination of sexes. But true romance is not the purely unconditional magic disney love thingy.
