You're not Jan Reimer, former mayor of Edmonton and long-time head of Alberta's Network of Women's Shelters, who just a few years ago refused to appear on a TV program discussing male victims of domestic violence, because for her to even show up and discuss it would lend legitimacy to the idea that they exist.

You're not Mary P Koss, who describes male victims of female rapists in her academic papers as being not rape victims because they were "ambivalent about their sexual desires" (if you don't know what that means, it's that they actually wanted it), and then went on to define them out of the definition of rape in the CDC's research because it's inappropriate to consider what happened to them rape.

You're not the National Organization for Women, and its associated legal foundations, who lobbied to replace the gender neutral federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act of 1984 with the obscenely gendered Violence Against Women Act of 1994. The passing of that law cut male victims out of support services and legal assistance in more than 60 passages, just because they were male.

You're not the Florida chapter of the NOW, who successfully lobbied to have Governor Rick Scott veto not one, but two alimony reform bills in the last ten years, bills that had passed both houses with overwhelming bipartisan support, and were supported by more than 70% of the electorate.

You're not the feminist group in Maryland who convinced every female member of the House on both sides of the aisle to walk off the floor when a shared parenting bill came up for a vote, meaning the quorum could not be met and the bill died then and there.

You're not the feminists in Canada agitating to remove sexual assault from the normal criminal courts, into quasi-criminal courts of equity where the burden of proof would be lowered, the defendant could be compelled to testify, discovery would go both ways, and defendants would not be entitled to a public defender.

You're not Professor Elizabeth Sheehy, who wrote a book advocating that women not only have the right to murder their husbands without fear of prosecution if they make a claim of abuse, but that they have the moral responsibility to murder their husbands.

You're not the feminist legal scholars and advocates who successfully changed rape laws such that a woman's history of making multiple false allegations of rape can be excluded from evidence at trial because it's "part of her sexual history."

You're not the feminists who splattered the media with the false claim that putting your penis in a passed-out woman's mouth is "not a crime" in Oklahoma, because the prosecutor was incompetent and charged the defendant under an inappropriate statute (forcible sodomy) and the higher court refused to expand the definition of that statute beyond its intended scope when there was already a perfectly good one (sexual battery) already there. You're not the idiot feminists lying to the public and potentially putting women in Oklahoma at risk by telling potential offenders there's a "legal" way to rape them.

And you're none of the hundreds or thousands of feminist scholars, writers, thinkers, researchers, teachers and philosophers who constructed and propagate the body of bunkum theories upon which all of these atrocities are based.

I don't think we already have equality, and I think that feminism is partially to blame for some of that. Feminism is not about equality between men and women. You won't have much difficulty finding people who say they want gender equality but who don't consider themselves feminists. However, I don't think you'll ever find a feminist who doesn't believe that men oppress women, or at least that they have oppressed women throughout history. I think that it is this idea that defines feminism, and I think it is cruel and wrong.

Just look at what feminists are interested in. I think the wage gap is a good example. Feminists have tried extremely hard to argue that women are paid less than men for the same work, because it helps them argue that men are oppressing women. Anti-feminists have argues that these claims don't actually compare men and women doing equal work. The American Association of University Women has released several "studies" which claim to find an "unexplained" wage gap even after controlling for variables such as occupation. I've seen research that competently controls for occupation, and that factor alone usually cuts the wage gap in half, but the AAUW only reduced the gap by about 25%. If you look at their methodology, their data from the 08-09 Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Survey only broke occupation down into 12 occupational categories. I repeat, 12! These included "other white-collar jobs," and even just "other." For context, the other studies that I've seen had at least 150 occupations, which is much better but even that isn't exhaustive. I can point you to other research which shows that as you use more occupational categories, occupation explains more of the wage gap. The AAUW "research" is so incredibly bad, I can't even describe it. 12 occupation categories. You don't produce that sort of garbage by mere incompetence, that was intentional. I've seen politicians, academics, policy makes, and even just feminist influencers use those studies.

Also look at things like how in the 90s the AAUW called for changes to education to make it more suitable for women and girls. They used research to claim that boys were receiving more attention in school than girls, and this this meant the education system was biased against female students. As it turns out, the data actually suggested that while boys did receive more attention than girls, the excess attention was negative. Also, they claimed that women were unfairly excluded in universities, even though men and women attended university at about the same rate in the 1920s, and men started attending college more than women following the creating of the G.I. Bill which granted funds to veterans, many of whom were drafted because they were male. The disparity between male and female college attendance had narrowed by the 1980s. Feminists took what was supposed to be a thank you to the young men who were forced into military service to fight, die, and kill, and they used it to claim that it was oppressive to women.

Feminists in South Korea did something similar. South Korea requires young men to spend a few years serving in the military after high school. Young women can go straight to college. This would put the young men at a disadvantage, so universities would grant some credits to students who had served in the military. Feminist only saw that men were given advantages because they were given credits as soon as they started college, so they had the universities discontinue the practice. Now, young men who are forced to delay their education won't be rewarded for it.

What all of theses, and so many more, all point to is how far feminism will go to advance the notion that men are oppressing women. They'll horrifically manipulate data to make men look like the villain, and they'll even worsen inequalities if it means they get to cry victim. I could point you to many other instances of feminist organizations working against equality. The National Organization for Women has opposed every attempt to achieve shared parent custody following divorce. They lobbied twice in Florida to have the governor veto legislation that would have achieved this, even though the legislation was popular across party lines and passed both the state house and senate. Feminists have been responsible for the Duluth Model and the Tender Years Doctrine. Even though we know men are treated more harshly by the criminal justice system compared to women, even for committing the same crime with the same record, feminists consistently call for the criminal justice system to treat women more leniently, which is the exact opposite of equality.

Even the right to vote wan't a shining example of equality. For men, getting the vote meant getting the draft, which is why so many women didn't want the vote. Feminists managed to get equal rights, but not equal responsibility. When feminists can manage to do more than sign a lousy amicus brief in support of actions by men's right groups to make the draft apply to both men and women (which were doomed to fail, so their support meant nothing), then you might have a chance to convince me that feminism is about equality. But as it stands, when feminist organizations even do as little as writing that amicus brief, all they say is that drafting men and not women is just more proof of discrimination against women. That's all they care about, blaming everything on men.

So, lets look at one of the many issues men face. Family court. Its unfair and its used to extract massive amounts of money from men to women unfairly. It also favours the women in all the procedings so much, that if a father wants to have even a chunk of custody, he has to prove that the mother is an abuser, evdn tho the stereotype that women are better parents is total bullshit.

But im getting sidetracked, arent i? Oh well, lets get back to the point, shall we?

So, we can see this is an issue. Right? Its an issue thats affecting men, and its a big issue.

If that’s the case then you’re admitting that Western society has achieved at the very least equality of the sexes. (It hasn’t and it’s gone way past that into female supremacy but whatever).

And if that’s the case then you should stop calling yourself a feminist because outside of western countries all those things done to women in non first world countries are crimes against humans. Not just crimes against women for being women. I mean look at all the other stuff done to gay people in the Middle East etc. it’s just shitty for everyone

Its so...whenever I hear these empowered western women scream PATRIARCHY..i wonder how they would have lived in Asia. Because their nonsense arguments and PATRIARCHY no longer exists in the west...now theyr just fighting for more and more privilege. The Eastern Hemisphere, on the other hand...is a different ballgame. They should be fighting for the suffering women here. Specially...members of one particular faith.
