Some time back there was an attempt to define a program to identify which new-hires would become long-term valuable employees. As I recall, it was dropped due to "racism" - it kept identifying white males as the most likely to be good employees.

But here's the thing. Based on statistics, white males are more likely to show up on time, do the work, work overtime, take less sick leave, stay with the company longer, initiate fewer lawsuits, and cause less disruption than other races / sexes.

Another "hatefact" which must never see the light of day.

Reality is racist.

Not sure I believe someone programmed it to target people. There are likely other factors highly correlated with the favored groups. Try testing people in identical clothes and situations to see what the algorithm does.

By that likely makes too much sense

If you recall, there was a debacle last year about a Google employee who had created and tested an algorithm that also was racist. He clearly stated that since he and his team were mostly white men, the algo hadn't learned how to interpret other races and people yet.

Still, Google wokesters got all pissy at him on Twitter, no less. So the more he defended himself the more they could light fires.
