First post, long time lurker on both here and red pill. Following all standard basics of lifting etc.
Ive recently had some time off work with health issues, but since return have had a big change in my thoughts and perspective. I’ve struggled thinking about this and not understanding what’s happening.
Had a lot of shit off a new boss at work, blue pilled but aggressive with it. Not physically but his nature and demeanour. I took a step back at work which forced this guy to do the very job I did but this fucktard is making a total mess of it, lots of mistakes. Now this fucker needs my help and I ain’t giving it, forgive but never forget. Even now at times he tries to be assertive and dominant and mentally I feel stronger than ever, not communicated directly but he backs down it’s almost like a role reversal although he is still a senior to me
Following u/vasilyzaitev corporate land post i went for a new job, followed the advice, got the gig and a raise, but had to decline due to accommodation issues
What struck me the most is during the interview was my connection and hunger to succeed with the guy interviewing me, I felt like it was someone on the same internal journey, hungry to succeed etc. Power talk perhaps? Only once prior I’ve had this connection professionally with a boss so am confused.
My concern is how I now view people as tools to complete a job at work, limited concern except to achieve what I need in order to succeed and progress myself and my career. During interview this thought process was expressed in more politically correct terms and once the interview was over I felt I had the gig.
I feel hungry for success and want to achieve as much as I can with urgency, I’m an older guy but never had this internal desire or sudden lightbulb moment before.
I look back and can see where I made mistakes and fucked up, I’m also grateful for this shit stain of a boss for invoking this humbling thought process I’ve experienced
Hope some of your honest comments will either help me understand or bring me back to reality that I once knew.
Edit; for full disclosure I will add I’m currently taking mental health meds but am also considering if I became depressed before due to my lack of assertiveness or not being my true self. Or if it is an Illness that could have possibly caused this thinking pattern
