I've had pain in my knee for years after a work accident when I was 21 (fell in a truck bed carrying a 200+ pound desk, all the weight came down on one knee). I'm 27 now and have been lifting for probably 3 years with about an 8 month gap in there where I did primarily nothing bit cardio. I've been back into lifting probably 5-6 months now after that gap, and I've found my knee is much more bothersome than before, to the point where I can feel pain in the opposite knee for compensating for the other. For the most, this doesn't effect me too badly with lifting with the exception of squats. Before my 8 month break, from what I recall I was squatting 375 for sets of 5 (200 lbs, 6'0"). Now I've progressed back to squatting 315 for 5x5, but after that workout my knees are burnt for the rest of the week aside from doing some light weight high volume squatting, in addition to not getting the depth on my squats. Any thoughts, remedies, methods , for alleviating some of the knee pain and also helping stability and balance for my depth on squats?
