I have seen it posted multiple times in comments on TRP that relationships which do not produce a child usually end after 3 or 4 years.

Is this due to something in our partner's, or our own, biology recognizing that "this person must be infertile." and subsequently losing attraction in order to find a fertile partner?

If so, does the use of birth control contribute to relationships ending more than is currently spoken about?
