To be honest I really like this girl and things are complicated . Part of me thinks I should leave, but part me of wants to stay. I can't read the future, even though part of me thinks this is a bad idea, the other part of me worries that I am also being way too over paranoid after things, and letting the TRP thought process get a little out of hand.
So I'm trying to be think things through and calmly rationalize things, which isn't going too well. So any suggestions to help that would be great.
I take some of TRP with a grain of salt. A lot of the theory makes sense for explaining behavior but it maybe overly negative by assuming that LTRs aren't possible in this time period.
But obviously there are married people who do make relationships work. They can't all be in the top 20%. So how do they do it? Are we taking things maybe a little too seriously in assuming hypergamy and current divorce laws make marriage impossible? Sure it's hard mode, but does that mean we give up? Or do we find someone we want and make it work?
In the rational male, Rollo said something along the lines of the worst mistake someone new to TRP can do is try to make it work with the first girl after learning about TRP. Can anyone explain why this is the case? The one thing I've learned from TRP was that I don't get love by trying to do what someone says they want me to. I can't nice my way into a relationship by hoping they discover my special snowflake personality that is so great that I could just stop doing anything and they would love me forever. I need to continue to work to become a better person. Why would it be so hard to apply this to the person I am currently with? MarriedTRP seems to make it work.
