I bought my first truck after being in the biz for a year. An older hand told me "Boy, you gonna lose 3 things. You'll lose your house, you'll lose your truck, then you'll lose your wife." He was right, I lost all 3. The house wasn't much, neither was the wife or the truck. My 2nd wife helped me lose the truck. I made the mistake of trusting her with the finances. She was taking my settlement checks and salting them away in her escape fund. After the dust settled from that divorce, I asked her how much she got me for. She said "Oh, I can't tell you that!" She was wise to keep that figure a secret, as it could have resulted in a long prison sentence for yours truly. It took me a long while to dig out from under that trainwreck. Most of my errors have been in the area of interpersonal relationships. Long story short, I've made a bunch of shit choices over the years.
