I really, really hate stories like this...... but they are important to read. We don't know the details about this case or their marriage. This could have been a long episode of abuse on his part and she finally decided to end it, and he reacted the same way he had been treating her for years (threats of force). There could be previous allegations or police reports against him for all we know.

There's also the chance she is cold hearted and dropped him at the worst time because she was 'unsatisfied' and/or cheating on him. The point is, we don't know and more digging should be done before people excoriate anyone. Instant blame and reputation destruction is typically how women react; not men.
