Is Red Pill like the first rule Fight Club, or should you own it?

First of all the red pill is not a group. Stop saying you're a part of it. It's a place of discussion where you can learn from others and teach if you know enough. It's not a club, it's not a fraternity, and it's not a secret society you want to go around talking about.

You're not understanding the joke that underlies the first rule of Fight Club.

The entire point of the first rule of Fight Club is to get everyone talking about it by insisting that no one talks about it. It's meant to make it forbidden fruit. That's why it's also the second rule. They're laying it on thick -- practically daring members to talk about it.

In that regard, TRP is nothing like the first rule of Fight Club.

From my viewpoint, TRP is basically cognitive behavioral therapy for young men who haven't realized that the pussy likes a good pounding. You're purging dumb and useless thoughts that hold you back with women.

As with most types of therapies, you're not required to talk about it with anyone. It's your therapy to fix your worldview in order to empower you to lead the life you want. You-you-you. Fuck them.

absolutely never talk about TRP in the real world. don't try to convert anyone, don't try to be an evangelist or recruiter, don't argue for the red pill side in any sort of debate. never use any TRP terminology in public. if anyone starts talking to you about the red pill or any other PUA/MGTOW/MRA shit, pretend you don't really know what they're talking about. "ha you mean like the guys who try to use insults for pickup lines? yeah i read an article about that. fuckin hilarious. what's that called 'negging' or something like that right?"

this isn't a fight club. TRP is more like being a professional athelete using performance enhancing drugs. lie to congress if it comes down to it but never admit using this stuff.

Never mention it. I do, however, sometimes say red pill truths but in normal language and people always agree.

By giving a name to you actions, you define it.

You provide someone a solid body to research, and attack you based on the concepts they have read up on: which may or may not be accurate, or even correctly interpreted, or even your points of view. And now you're on the defensive against straw-man arguments, ad-populum, and all sorts of social tactics.

It gives them the power to say: you're X because Y.

And that is why identity politics works so well to the simple minded:

You're X,
therefore you must think Y,
therefore you're a misogynist/racist,
I win, profit.

I don't think there's anything wrong with standing up with what you believe in, and sharing your beliefs if that's what you want. With that being said most people are going to be very resilient to your ideas if they're different then theirs. It's not your responsibility or even your place to try to convince other people to become red pilled - but this doesn't seem to be the concern of your question.

I'm reluctant to lump myself in with groups of people because the group usually shares beliefs that I do not, and I don't want to open myself up to attack for a situation like that.

Otherwise I've noticed that if you make it obvious you're gaming girls hard in a club/bar type setting you'll make enemies real fast by sharing TRP principles in that setting.

Why not give both ends a try and see which one you like?
