This has nothing to do with women in general.

I recently moved into my own place early last month. Things have been going great. The parking in the area is generally competitive, but I was fortunate enough to have the two tenants above me agree to allowing me to double park in the driveway since I leave early in the morning for work. In this position I'm blocking the sidewalk which is illegal where we live, but for the past month it hasn't been an issue.

Well, recently the tenant above me has been causing a lot of noise late at night. The floors are wooden and thin. It's been waking me up at 2am, 4am, etc. I get up at 6:30am...

So I spoke to him about it and he "pretended" he didn't know what I was talking about, said it may be the other connecting houses...so I shrugged it off and the noises did stop for a few more days. I assumed he was telling me the truth.

Then the noises started back up, and I contacted my landlord about it. They said "no, its definitely him - we'll get in touch directly."

I think my landlord may not like him very much, and I know they definitely want me in that building due to my great credit and reliability. Just the vibes that I got from them when I initially signed on.

Anyways, the wife of the man comes downstairs to me yesterday to apologize for the noise. Said the landlord spoke to them, but then also says to me, "you know you're lucky you haven't gotten a ticket yet for parking in the driveway and blocking the sidewalk...we pay for that spot" Less than an hour later I get a ticket....obviously she called it in. The ticket even says "I did observe a vehicle obstructing pedestrian pathway," as if he was told to investigate by a caller. When I mentioned to the wife that I had spoken to her husband about the noise weeks ago, she sort of froze in a look of guilt and said, "oh...he didn't tell me that..."

So my question is, what recourse should I take? I don't want to escalate things, but now I'm back to street parking and it's gonna be a pain in the ass, and this lady absolutely called the police on me - but I know the landlord doesn't really have a say in the parking matter. That was more a general favor.
