Nothing is true:

Traditions are merely peer pressure from dead people of a bygone era.. The sayings are to be followed blindly, without even considering whether it will be helpful to us now or in the long run, without a care about the consequences of such a decision.. sound familiar?

We make our own traditions, based on logic, facts and ultimately, practicality to us and us alone, at least at first.

There is no harm in referring to old texts, taking what benefits us and leaving what we don't want (as much as reasonable, that is).

Everything is permitted:

One must always be responsible for one's actions. It is always better to be well prepared rather than leave a majority of things to the mundanity and randomness of life. Holding onself to a higher standard automatically minimizes the error margin, thereby killing two birds with one stone.: Better work and lower error margins.

Gentlemen, back in 2007, as a newly14 year old male, I always knew this statement would come back with positive tones one day, with the potential to help ourselves and our fellow people one day.
