This and /r/theredpill have done more for me in a week than I've done in my entire life.

I'm terrible at text flirting. I frequently find I overstep boundaries, and that in trying not to try too hard, I end up sliding an undertone of trying too hard into the things I say.

I've learned to ease up on this substantially, but in turn, it's made it hard for me to say some more sexual stuff via text and not fear falling back into my old habits.

Let's start with an example. Girl sends you a picture of her bedroom and says she just rearranged some shit. What do you say?

Things I'd consider:

  • Picture of my room and a joke about the contents of the room (boring but photo is more personal than a text, building rapport)

  • Joke about panties/bras (undertones of trying hard for nudes possibly)

  • Tease about it being a mess or something else non-sexual (safe and somewhat humorous)
