It seems a lot of people that grew up using the Internet, computers, and texting wind up with two entirely different speech patterns: one for their real-life conversations, and one for online/text-based conversations. I was one of these people. I was able to assert myself, usually say the right thing, etc. online but not in person.

Forget the way you normally behave. Don't worry that you'll be speaking differently and people will notice. Work to add the strong aspects of your text communication into your vocal communication.

It sounds funny, but the way I started making this happen was I'd imagine myself almost as a character that I'm controlling, like a video game. Like I was my mind, and my body was just something I controlled, just like the keyboard is something I control. I'm not the words on the screen, I'm the mind that thought them up. In life, I'm not my body or my mouth, I control them. I make them my bitch, not the other way around.

Expect resistance. Expect bullshit. Expect lies. Expect bad behavior. Be mindful of when you're being shit-tested (which is literally always in some form or another), and actively choose what you will and will not tolerate. Act according to your desires, and be ready move on. You do not wait for her to choose. You lead by presenting options. They aren't ultimatums. You are offering a path of with you, or without you. There's no other way you should look at it when dealing with the opposite sex. Don't tolerate anything that is unacceptable to your standards.
