known this girl for about a year. over the past couple months, we started hanging out alone once in a while. we're both in ltrs, so i never knew how to handle the situation w/o coming off like a scumbag. but i kept inviting her out and she kept agreeing to meet me, so i thought she knew what was up. for the record - none of these 'hangouts' involved me footing the bill or doing her favors. it was always us getting dinner or watching a movie together and talking a bunch. big surprise - this route didn't go anywhere physical. we remained flirty friends.

sometime in the new year, i found trp. anyway, the next time i saw her, after following some advice i culled from this board, i wound up making out with her in my car. cool, i thought, some progress. i asked her to meet me a few days later, and she agreed. i took this as a sign we were on the same page because before we'd go long stretches without seeing each other. i was wrong.

after picking her up, we ended up talking about what happened. i found myself inadvertently forcing her to make some kind of decision, which is the furthest thing from what i wanted to do. then she said those dreaded words. i told her being just friends wasn't possible for me, which got her upset. she asked me what i wanted, and i told her honestly 'i just want to keep having fun'. she didn't like that either, probably because it made her sound like a whore. then i stupidly kept talking and asking her questions which forced her to say at different points 'i don't want our relationship to be physical' and 'i don't feel that way'. this was a week ago. we have not communicated since.

her words were cut and dry, to say the least. but i also feel like i forced her to say them by not shutting my god damn mouth. so is there a path forward with this girl or is it time to say 'eh, at least i made out with her' and move on?

thanks
