I was misinformed and didn't ask the right questions about what starts the 6 month cooling off clock in California and now the soonest my divorce can be final is the end of December! DAMMIT! I had the understanding that establishing the date of separation (4/1 for us) would start the clock there. This meant I could have it all done by OCTOBER hopefully. We can still have everything done by then but now there is more chance for markets and values of assets to change in ways that negatively impact me too much (I don't really mind if the values positively impact her honestly).

It's just a meaningless rant really. I wanted to get OUT ASAP so I could stop being controlled and ruled by this woman's narcissism and borderline traits. It's longer that I have to take the high road. It's longer I have to deal with telling other women who are interested in me that I'm not quite divorced YET and seeing that look. I know it is a journey and all that...It's just a disappointing moment to read that in the email from the para-legal.
