Context: I'm 27M, wife 28F and married for 6 years. We have a 2-year-old and another on the way. She's about 10 wks along and we're moving in the next few weeks to another state. No infidelity but I've been emotionally abused. Emotionally, I'm in a space of self-preservation and survival. I'm trying to be pragmatic about everything because otherwise, I can get really depressed and suicidal (I've been seeing therapists).

Alright so things have been on a pretty severe downturn after about our first year of marriage. I'll leave out the specifics but rest-assured that we've put in the due diligence to try and make this work. It seems like every other month for the last 4 or 5 years, we’ve argued to the point where we both wanted to end the marriage. Something always happened shortly after to either soften or change the mood and keep us together - albeit just in the hopes of it working out in the long run.

I’m sure I’m going to want to vent later but for now, I’m just at a loss for what to do. I’m wanting a divorce and she says she does as well (hopefully she’s being honest and not baiting me). Circumstances are complicated by the fact that she’s pregnant (we conceived during a short but hopeful period of peace and happiness). We have also been planning a move to another state for a few months. She has now decided that she does not want to go and that sentiment has only grown stronger as we’ve grown more and more unhappy with each other.

Should I hold out throughout the pregnancy and see if things “work out”? If we decide to get divorced in the very near future, does the move necessitate that I file before moving or can I file later than that in either the new or old state?

I’m planning on getting the help of a lawyer but I’m unsure of how quickly I need to move. Any advice would help. I’d be glad to provide details/respond to questions if I missed anything.
