My company offers legal insurance through MetLife I think.
While it doesn’t cover divorce, it does cover a 30 minute consultation per month, I believe.
So if me and stbxw do end up in front of a judge I know neither one of us will be able to afford an attorney. Having free consultations covered by insurance is a big plus.
I am hopping on getting a free second opinion on negotiations and advice on how and which evidence to present in court.
It’s better then nothing.

Only 5% of divorces ever go to court. Most larger companies offer 1/2 to an hour per year of legal services from specific attorneys.
It is not any type of “ legal insurance”. It is merely a benefit your employer provides. It’s will serve you to look up your own state divorce statutes, and sit down with spouse and understand what the split will look like financially and for custody. Go ahead and ask the free attorney questions, but a mediator is far cheaper if you both want a fair split. 5000 people a day in the US divorce. Its pretty straight forward.
