I do not currently have/want children but I'm not stupid to think that life sometimes gives em to us anyway.

I personally would not entertain the existence of Santa for my children. I hold the whole Santa idea responsible for the commercialization of Christmas. Kids don't want to be with their family. They want presents.

I would show my child that Christmas is about being a family; create my own holiday celebrations with my own family.

I believe that entertaining the existence of Santa as a reality, while adorable and fun, only leads to future disappointment when they realize that magic isn't real.

Do you feel strongly the other way? Do you have any scientific studies that would support/go against my claim?

Looking forward to the discussion.
