Grounds for an official complaint here. Even if you had been staring at her, which is quite legal by the way, slapping your face is both illegal and unprofessional.

When I was in sixth grade, this girl and I really didn't like each other. Like sometimes she would hit and push me. Well, one time she punched me and I punched her back. Guess who got a talking by the teachers. Me, of course. When I explained that I was only defending myself the female teacher said: "Well you gotta stop doing that."

Thing is, that didn't stop there. For years afterwards I felt incredibly guilty about defending myself. I buried it as far as I could in the back of my mind and panicked every time someone brought it up. I became scared of even talking to girls until was 21. This scarred me for a decade until I realize I did nothing wrong. 1. She hit me first. 2. At 12 years old there are little physiological differences between boys and girls and if there are it's the girls who are more developed.
