Especially when you consider that violence against men is usually done to be ‘comical’ and ‘funny’, especially in the media. In slasher movies, male victims almost always outnumber the female victims and it’s usually a female character (aka the final girl) who defeats and survives the killer at the end—yet I hear so many feminists claim that these movies exploit violence against women and treat them as ‘disposable’—when shit like drafts still exist and as well as age old sayings like ‘women and children first’. Then there’s all the work related deaths and dangerous jobs that mostly men do that most women want no part of…but please tell me again how women are the ones are treated as ‘disposable’????

But when you point out that little double standard, you’re accused of ‘erasure’. Trying to steer away focus of a real problem against a group of people when in fact that’s exactly what THEY are doing. By limiting and focusing the conversation to just women, more specifically women brutalized by men (because God forbid we acknowledge that women can be violent too and victimize other women), they’re ignoring another group that’s just as victimized as they are (probably even more so).
