I have always heard of society giving more funding and attention to women’s health compared to men’s health. Anyone who is suffering from any disease deserves care and attention regardless of gender. Today though, while I was shopping for some cold medicine at cvs, I was asked if I wanted to round up my payment for WOMENS heart health. Not heart health. WOMENS heart health.

I understand heart disease effects men more than women and men are more likely to suffer heart attacks at younger ages. It really bothered me that they were collecting money for only women when the majority of heart disease victims are men.

Even if one gender is affected more than another (men in this case), why only support donations for one gender and instead donate to anyone suffering?
