Considering women get lower sentences for the same crime as men, I think it's still fits. I looked up coercive control (which was her offence) and found a few cases that men were sentenced.

So, yeah, admittedly small sample size but all of them were harsher sentences than hers. In the mens cases, they were committing coercive control for a few years max, hers was a decade long. She got off really lightly all things considered.

The first instance you posted included harassment and threats of violence on top of the coercive behaviour, before the sentence. Coupled with the fact he was a police officer who abused his position to carry out and cover up the behaviour.

The second article doesn’t actually include any info on the crime, but rather the level precedent of a “victimless prosecution” as the victim didn’t wish to press charges.

The third post the person was guilty of multiple physical attacks over a period of time, rather than just the single attack akin to the original story.

And the final article you shared, the person had prior convictions involving bladed weapons, as well as the final instance of his arrest being the 3rd official domestic report.

I am not saying it doesn’t happen, but in this case and the cases you linked, justice was handed out equally.
