I know I've seen several stories like this but I can't find them now. Most commonly, court awards custody to mother even though father reports she is abusive towards the children. Mother ends up killing or seriously harming the children.

Similarly, stories where a man tries to report domestic violence from his partner and is ignored, and it ultimately leads to the woman killing him or his kids.
