could someone with a legal background go over, for those of us who are first generation emigrants/kids of emigrants what major areas to be considerate of when getting legally married
some i've thought of
if you don't have marriage contact you can't have spousal visitation during end of life
it's also unclear (maybe at a state level?) if I live together with a partner, without being legally married, what liabilities I have. Is she still entitled to half of what I have in assets? The house? How would child visitation?
What are some larger areas here to think about? Thank you.
