I went to a local bar the other night, with the intention of finishing a book I was reading and talking to a few girls. I sat at a booth, and one of the attractive bartenders eventually came over and took my order. We didn't chat at first, and I just kept reading.

Eventually she came back, and asked me what I was reading (Meditations by Marcus Aurelius). She asked if I knew how to meditate, and that she wanted to learn. I briefly explained it (even though the book has nothing to do with the practice of meditation, lol) and we started talking about things.

I joked a lot/teased her and she was giving me many indicators of interest: laughing hard at all of jokes, playing with her hair, smiling at me, continually coming back to my table to talk to me, asking me my name first, etc. I realize that some of this flirtatiousness is in her job description, but it was clear that this was well beyond that.

When I finished my book and my beers, I got up to leave. I said to her before I left that she should give me her phone number because I wanted to hang out with her. She hesitated for a split second, then said "yeah sure" in a bubbly, positive tone. As I began to walk away, however, she said, "can we go as just friends, though?" and explained she had a S/O.

So I'm wondering if it's worth following up on a girl like that - she clearly displayed interest far above what would have been normal, and she gave me her phone number, but then mentioned she had a boyfriend afterward. Any advice/insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.
