I filed for custody and visitation in California but am realizing I need legal assistance. Are courts stacked against men?

Bro.... lawyer up. You should have lawyered up a long time ago.... NEVER DO ANY LEGAL ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN. LAWYER UP. Right now the biggest thing you can do if you want your kids, get a load, get a badass attorney, do not settle out of court. Most of the time when men lose custody of their kids is because they settle out of court 70% of the time. If they take it before the judge men are actually winning custody about 55% of the time. Hang in there, be the best dad you can be. Do not let her have custody without a court order, her attorney is fucking you, if you have established a way the kids are living before the hearing, then the judge will do what yall have been doing. The most important thing in a custody battle is a support system (family) and stability (an unchanging schedule)

The first thing you can for yourself is get a job. Any job. Nobody is going to give you access to your child if you don't even have a job. The courts will look at that, and ignore you immediately.

Also, seek out Legal Aid Society for counsel. Good luck!

Honestly divorce lawyers drive about half the pain and suffering

Also she has no standing to limit your time with your kid.

Its both your kid . Not hers.

But let her know , if she wants 50 50 , which is fair theres no problem , why rock that boat ?
