Guilty by accusation

Fired by accusation. The title claims assault, the text then says harassment. No one seems to care that men are fired based on an accusation. Not saying this...

Because most women don't go into the depths of what someone said or did to them. The universal way of talking about it, that is generally taught or expected is, "I was made uncomfortable" . It's not the same as discomfort. She (the OP) owes you jack in terms of an explanation as to what happened with her. Just as if this had happened to a man he owes you no more than what he is willing to share within his range of comfortability. As someone that been sexually harassed and assaulted before I can very easily tell you that it's not easy to live with nor speak about it. So take it with a grain of salt.. she spoke up and got out of a situation that wasn't ideal. The man that risked doing something that terrible got fired for something he did to more women according to the post. That's the jist of it. It wasn't an attack on all men.. and the language didn't scream so either. Stop getting so defensive about an issue you've decided to make because you think it exists in that post. Men's rights not being taken seriously is a problem but as per that post it is not. There are plenty of protocols in workplace environments so the man was definitely not fired on the spot. In fact if you read the post he had been written up quite a few times before this incident. So the issue you've made is pretty much moot.

Hi sir just said I'd come here and try to defend myself a little since you found my post that was supposed to be uplifting and reassure people that it's ok to report sexual misconduct in the workplace..

As I commented to you on my post but you probably didn't read since you seem to be in such a blind rage by this post lol here is my comment:

Actually not true at all haha and quite frankly you are a hypocrite for saying this because you're doing the exact same thing you just accused everyone here of except reversed: taking this man's side without any evidence.

It's quite a large company that I work in so everything had to be proven before any of these accusations were taken anywhere.. There are multiple cameras around the store including a couple facing where he and I would usually work together. Upon bringing this information to my boss (which might I add I was very upset at this time trying to give her all the details of the last few months without crying), she helped me to compile a list of dates and times when I remembered him touching me etc, these were then checked on the cameras and there were multiple videos of him touching me and other co-workers (where you can see us visibly concerned on camera) compiled and used as evidence against him along with the statements of multiple woman ranging from ages 19-40 but yes sir thank you for assuming that 'a group of 22 year old girls' made all of this up because we didn't like this man.

And to the rest of you lovely men who are calling this man for what he is I hope you have a lovely day and I appreciate you all for your honesty <3

I hope you also understand why I reacted in the way I did given you gave very little info and what you did give was confusing.

Men are constantly falsely accused with very little to go on. Amber Heard, Asia Argento, Cardi B are just a few examples of women that have carte blanche right to get away with their crimes because "believewomen" and nothing else.

I am glad you got it sorted out, I am also glad you made this a bit clearer.

just for the record the amount of abuse I have recieved for asking the question, is intense. I expected it. because it highlights the issue of what happens when men actually ask for proof.

thanks again, I appreciate you giving more information. and you absolutely did the right thing, I have been proved incorrect in my assessment of your original comment. Which was vague, changed language and sounded pretty dodgy tbh. I was wrong.

I already mentioned that yes men are falsely accused and yes that OP and every other post on Reddit could be lies but Sir if you look at your post here, You have written guilty by accusation in the title even though you have no solid proof that that's the entire story. So by your own logic, yours is a fake post too! Oops! Even if it was a male who accuses someone of sexual harassment, I would believe them, especially if other men gave statements. you finally had a point here. I over stepped by making assumptions in the title of the post. correct. (though everyone except me on the OP is working from 'guilty by accusation', so technically it was right), but other than that, all I have done is ask for proof. why? because it actually matters when people get accused of assault. der.

I am not sure why everyone is out with the pitchforks feeling so entitled based on her OP, other than because it is so common for the herd to do that. I am entitled to question it given its posted to a public forum. also, der.

Her further comment on the subject since has been enlightening and totally changed my position, but up until then, it was dodgy af and yet people like you were completely off on your high horses without any evidence. worse...

You asked for proof you say but here's the thing, OP did not accuse anyone on the post. She did not name anyone or mention a company name. So how is she accusing someone? She just wanted to get something off of her chest. Something she did which required courage. So she did not accuse anyone.

You can question it all you want but just know how it makes you look. This is how you behave to someone who is NOT accusing anyone, just mentioning an incident.

She does not have to show evidence. It is a Reddit post. Do you ask every single Redditor for proof on everything? She did not accuse anyone so why would you need proof?

That was how I and my friends felt sir. Scared. Scared because people (male or female) stepping up to harassers are questioned even when they are not accusing anyone. I'm scared because the way you reacted to OP makes me want to just suffer in silence. Posts like OP's are supposed to inspire other men and women to stand up and be brave but no, you break them apart. You just want to hate and bring them down.

My bf and my male friends want you to stop using the word men because you and your women-hating club are not men. You are vile human being sir,. Mensrights are 100% valid. Men should not suffer but even in that subreddit people speak against you. But that does not mean that you should hate on women, just like feminism does not make you should hate on men. Do you know those feminists who hate men (thereby not being a feminist as feminism believes in equal rights)? You, sir, are the male version of that.

You literally hate feminists as is visible by your activity on certain subreddits. Feminism does not say women are superior, just that women and men are equal.

Who is she accusing then? Someone else mentioned this too under your og comment that OP did not reveal any details because she didn't want to accuse anyone on Reddit. She did irl but that's for her to know. She did something brave and wanted to share it. That's it. She was not accusing anyone. The comments say that yes good job on being brave. That is, she got someone who was harassing her fired. She was not calling him out on Reddit. She was talking about what she did not who was causing her trouble.

OP does not owe you anything. she does not have to show you proof just like no other Redditor does because she already went through that irl. Many other women gave statements. That is all you need to know. Reddit has so many posts every day and none of them provides proof unless they accuse someone, that is call them out publicly. You almost had my sympathy but you just lost it.

Why are you defending a post on reddit from a random stranger? you dont know them or know if the post is true. why do you assume that it is? why are you like that?

so...given someone has claimed a 50 yo sexually assaulted her and got fired. its pretty serious. I would like to know more. false accusations are a major problem for men today.

she also posted on a public forum, so it is up for debate.

btw, you believing random redditors posts at face value with zero evidence, makes you the "moron", not me.

Did you consider that I might be a lawyer and represent men falsely accused. its very common and you may be surprised to learn this, but false accusations carry jail sentences...

Alright let's break this down.. word for word.

She says she got a sexual assaulter fired... Never said he assaulted her. Now, it's possible that through the proceedings prior to him being fired more people spoke out and it became known that he may have assaulted someone in that case yes.. he is known as an assaulter.

No she says he sexually harassed her.

Wikipedia defines it as : Sexual harassment is a type of harassment involving the use of explicit or implicit sexual overtones, including the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.[1] Sexual harassment includes a range of actions from verbal transgressions to sexual abuse or assault.[2]

So this is an umbrella term that also includes assault.. which thereby makes the term sexual assaulter perfectly viable.

Now .. harassment in workplace is incredibly uncomfortable and is also a very private thing. So her statements calling it an uncomfortable experience is also alright. If you were harrased by someone every single day or even per week it can lead to feelings of dread.. which on it's own is uncomfortable. Let's also bring into effect that verbal harassment can lead to people being insecure about the way they look or walk or things they do. And it's not necessary perpetrated by what someone is wearing.. I believe there are many examples that prove that and since you are a lawyer I don't think I need to explain that to you.

And as I've previously mentioned.. she doesn't have to detail out what happened to her for your satisfaction because she owes you nothing. Knowing every perverted detail that happened to her whether verbal or physical just so you , a stranger, can be satisfied.. is really overreaching.

Had the tone of the talk been a one time event people would have entertained your "debate" except it wasn't. He was given more than a few chances to fix things. Except when you stack up the list of complaints as mentioned in her post.. he got what was coming to him and rightfully so.

Your debate sir.. is very moot. And is quite frankly ridiculous.

there were no facts. anywhere. if you claim what she said to be fact, you have no proof. the entire thing is potentially made up, even the later comment she added. I believe it to be true, but doesnt mean it is, and she and her 22F gang may easily have targetted the guy and used CCTV to prove proximity, nothing more. are you saying 22F gangs of girls would never do such a thing? we just don't know what really happened we have only her comments to go on. I never just "believewomen". I believe facts. they are much more reliable.

but it isnt really the point anyway.

you, like many people here, seem to want to shut down any possibility of it being a lie, and work from the standpoint of it being true. without any facts. without any proof. my objection to that is that there is another side to this story. in the absence of any proof. but no one wants that to be brought up. no one wants it questioned.

it is interesting how aggressively everyone will fight for an unproven post on reddit to not be questioned.

just because everyone is targetting me for questioning it, does not make it fact. wake up to yourself. there are no facts. you said so. maybe you cant comprehend this.

maybe take some time to actually read things or learn to comprehend what other people are saying too.
